Hello and welcome to Nelly’s Nursery at Rosendale Road.

My name is Jane Bellenger and I am the Nursery Manager here.

I have worked in nurseries since 1992 when I qualified with my NNEB Diploma. I have held a variety of different roles over the years including Nursery Nurse, Room Leader and Deputy Manager. In 1998, I completed my Advanced Diploma, which helped me in my progression to my first role as a Nursery Manager in 2004.

I am very passionate about children learning through their play and being allowed to become independent, friendly, confident little people that progress to achieve their full potential. I enjoy my role immensely, no two days are ever the same in the life of a Nursery Manager, and it is a role that I believe enables me to contribute positively to the lives of children and their families from the very beginning of their journey with us.

Rosendale Road Nursery
We are lucky to benefit from an incredible building, as a result of the re-building of All Saints Church following a fire many years ago. Our purpose built nursery was refurbished to an incredible standard, and has won national awards (NMT Nursery Design) as a result of the ‘child centred’ environment created. With exposed brickwork and many features that bring out the character of the building, our children love the bright, airy environment in which they play and learn.

The building is spacious and divided into 3 areas: our Baby Room (which accommodates babies and toddlers aged 3 months to approximately 24 months), our Main Room (for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old), and our Hall, which provides a huge indoor area that we use for mealtimes and a variety of activities.

We also have a well-equipped outdoor play area, which our older children can ‘free flow’ into from our Main Room – choosing whether to be indoors or outdoors and enabling them to explore their indoor and outdoor environments, be curious learners and develop freedom and independence.

We have been rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED for a number of years now, and my team and I will endeavour to maintain the high standards of care that this recognition implies.
